WHAT

Hundreds of Contra Costa County residents experiencing homelessness will access vital health and social services at Project Homeless Connect (PHC), a one-day event to help attendees become self-sufficient.

The annual event often draws more than 1,000 people who need food, medical and dental care, shelter, haircuts, pet care, state identification cards and many other services. All services are free and located in one place at the same time.

PHC also features Community Homeless Court, a Contra Costa Superior Court service that helps participants resolve outstanding minor offenses that often arise from being homeless.

WHO:

Anyone in Contra Costa who is experiencing homelessness is encouraged to attend.

Project Homeless Connect is organized annually by Contra Costa Health Services’ Division of Health, Housing and Homeless Services. Services are provided by numerous community-based organizations, volunteers and elected officials, including Antioch Mayor Wade Harper, Contra Costa County Supervisor Federal Glover and Assembly member Jim Frazier.

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds, 1201 West 10th Street, Antioch

WHY:

Thousands of people experience homelessness every night in Contra Costa County. PHC provides critical services and promotes good health for the entire community.
