Volunteers Needed To Connect Homeless People With Vital Services

Volunteers are needed for a one-day event that connects hundreds of homeless people with medical and social services. Project Homeless Connect, sponsored by Contra Costa Health Services and the City of Antioch, connects people experiencing homelessness with food, medical and dental care, substance abuse programs, shelters and more. The success of the event depends largely on volunteers. Volunteers are needed to set up the day before, greet and direct people, distribute goods and food, assist service providers and provide general assistance at the event.


Anyone over the age of 18 is encouraged to volunteer. Volunteer registration forms are available online at or by calling 925-313-6124. Completed forms must be received by September 10. Email forms to Walk-in volunteers will be accepted the day of the event.


Project Homeless Connect 6 will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, September 16. Volunteers are needed September 15 from 1 to 5 p.m. and September 16 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers are asked for at least a half-day.


Project Homeless Connect will be held at the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds, 1201 W. 10th Street, Antioch.
