Contra Costa Seeks Applicants to Administer, Promote H1N1 Vaccine

What:
Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) will award approximately $960,000 in federally funded grants to assist with H1N1 activities. Assistance is needed to promote H1N1 vaccine, administer H1N1 vaccine and develop a targeted media campaign for hard-to-reach, under-vaccinated and vulnerable priority populations in Contra Costa. CCHS will hold two optional bidder's conference webinars for interested agencies.
When:
Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 27. A first optional bidder's conference webinar will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21 and a second will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, April 23. Awards must be spent by July 30, 2010.
Who:
The following groups are encouraged to apply:
- For H1N1 vaccine promotion: Contra Costa community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, health care facilities, health care agencies, medical providers or other agencies that serve priority populations.
- For H1N1 vaccine administration: Licensed health care facilities or medical providers. Priority will be given to nonprofit community clinics, federally qualified health centers, health care facilities, health care agencies and medical providers. For-profit health care facilities, health care agencies and medical providers are also eligible to apply.
- For H1N1 media campaign: Agencies with demonstrated expertise in developing health-focused, social-marketing media campaigns.
