Workgroup Seeks Members to Advise Contra Costa Mental Health

What:

The Mental Health Division of Contra Costa Health Services is seeking members of the public to fill seven vacant seats on its Consolidated Planning Advisory Workgroup. The workgroup advises the Mental Health Division on matters relating to the Mental Health Services Act in Contra Costa County. The Mental Health Services Act, which was passed by voters in 2004, aims to transform and expand public mental health services.

Who:

People from one or more of the following groups are encouraged to apply. Experience in the mental health field is not required.

  • Latino Community
  • Asian/Pacific Islander Community
  • Children's Family Member
  • Mental Health Consumers
  • Law Enforcement
  • Older Adult

When & Where:

The Consolidated Planning Advisory Workgroup meets from 4 to 6 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month in Martinez. Members are also asked to participate in one additional subcommittee.

Why:

This workgroup will help plan future Mental Health Services Act efforts and will advise the Mental Health Division on how to integrate MHSA principles and practices. This group gives members from the mental health community an opportunity to provide input for system growth and change.
